Entrepreneur and Business Owner Grace Borsari
A native of Switzerland, Grace Borsari studied art at a Bern trade school and gained early professional experience as a photographer in the Swiss Alps. After pursuing opportunities in Canada as a ski instructor and photographer, Grace Borsari relocated to Bellingham, Washington (WA), where she established Altair Advanced Industries, Inc. (AAI).
Originally a part of the Alpha Group, which maintained interests in broadband and alternative energy, AAI produced standby power supplies for the communications and cable television markets. Under Grace Borsari’s leadership, AAI sustained substantial growth in its three decades of operation. The company provided backup power equipment for broadband and telecommunications customers.
In 2019, the Whatcom Business Alliance named Ms. Borsari Business Person of the Year. To give back to the community, she donates to various scholarships for women pursuing careers in advanced materials and computer science. An accomplished pilot, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and skiing in her free time.
